Holdsport has always been associated with South Africans' love of sport and the outdoors. Its history dates back to 1986 when the first Sportsmans Warehouse was opened in Rondebosch. As the first superstore it was dedicated to the active sporting retail enthusiast and it specialised in providing customers with quality branded merchandise at competitive prices. Holdsport now has 53 stores nationally and one in Namibia.

Through a network of 35 Sportsmans Warehouse and 19 Outdoor Warehouse stores in prime locations, Holdsport provides sporting, leisure and recreational merchandise to a wide ranging audience from sporting beginners to veterans. Holdsport also has a strategic investment in Performance Brands, which is independently managed and supplies technical apparel to the sporting goods industry under the First Ascent and Capestorm brands.

Sales Update for the 5 months ended 31 January 2013
Holdsport shareholders are advised that total sales for the five months ended 31 January 2013 (“the period”) increased by 11.2% compared to the corresponding period last year. Retail sales increased by 11.5% with sales for comparable stores increasing by 8.6% over the period. Read more >
